Havilah

Havilah's stickers display a deep interest in the nostalgic and the comfortable. All of her stickers were selected in high school and she has not made any changes since. There used to be more, but some weer taken off because she disliked their style or design as her own taste evolved. 

The ones that remain are those that she still feels an allegiance towards. Her favorite sticker is the Legally Blonde quote, which is placed near the center of the laptop for all to see. She loves that sticker more than the others for a few reasons. First, it is a great quote that never fails to make her laugh. Second, it's a reminder that one can be feminine and smart, and to never let other people define you, just like Elle Woods, speaker of said quote. This is a core value Havilah tries to live by, and once again the sentimental reigns supreme when it comes to laptop stickers.

She thought about putting more inspirational quotes on her laptop, but didn't feel it would be genuine. She largely opted for a more comedic and visual approach, choosing symbols that would hold personal meaning to her. The Anastasia sticker represents her favorite childhood movie, while the oranges are a reminder of her childhood in Florida.

The few examples of visible everyday writing are quotes. "Blackbird fly" is a reference to her favorire Beatles song, while "There's no crying in baseball!" is a reference to her favorite movie. When asked about these sticker choices, Havilah stated that she chose them as a reminder of who she is. It was not so much for other people as it was a reminder to herself of the things she cared about, in case she ever forgot.

Over the years, the stickers have ingrained their way into her psyche. It's hard for her to imagine taking any of them off. She is proud to say that laptop is her to this day. Some things never change.
