Lilly

Lilly's laptop is like an archaelogical site. There are layers of stickers, with the deepest cuts proving to be the earliest. While others have been more reluctant to share their interests via sticker on their laptops, Lilly wholeheartedly embraces this practice. From just a quick glance, one can get a good idea of what makes her tick.

When asked about her maximalist approach to stickers, Lilly expressed pride in each of them. Every sticker had a story. She hopes to convey nerdiness through her stickers, with references to her passion for guitars and Legos (the Fender sticker). The little giraffe is one of her favorites, and acts as an inside joke in her family while also reminding her of home.

It's safe to say that she is also a Taylor Swift fan. Bits of Swiftie lore are found throughout the laptop surface design, a clear indicator of her level of fandom. With a combination of fun designs and inspirational quotes, Lilly finds empowerment and silliness to be what she seeks in her sticker design. One of her stickers, "old ways don't open new doors," served as a reminder to push herself outside of her comfort zone, a core value that she tries to live by. Seeing it on her laptop every day helps her try to stay true to this mantra.

Not only does her laptop serve as an identifier for herself, but it also doubles as an accessory. The everyday writing added to the laptop surface enhances the overall technology, and she sees it as contributing to an overall sense of comfortability in her environment. This new caveat to stickers as a form of everyday writing indicates that the labels do not just serve an immediate sentimental need, but also offer a visceral physical gratification.

While one could mine Lilly's laptop for any number of clues to what she cares about, she doesn't wish to be judged solely by it. It is clear that she is loud and proud when it comes to her stickers, but there is still more to be discovered.
