Evan

Evan's laptop has certainly withstood the test of time. Can the same be said for his stickers? Some of them have been on there so long that their original messages have faded away. Still, they remain on the laptop surface.

The primary motivation behind his sticker selection is a desire to express himself through his interests. What's interesting is the way his evolution as a person both parallels and diverges from the labels he has curated. Most of them were added to his laptop in freshman year of college, and his core values have since shifted.

Initially interested in cultivating a a trendy and intellectual persona, Evan's intentions can be seen in his TED talk and Billionaire Boys sticker. The rationale behind the former was a subconscious desire to appear intellectual. Yet he looks at it today as a visual representation of his genuine passion for TED talks. The Billionaire Boys sticker is now his least favorite. When asked why, his answer was simple. His priorities had shifted. In his mind, it was a symbol of luxury and materialism that no longer represented him or his interests. Yet intriguingly, he has not removed it. Perhaps then this suggests that everyday writing stickers can continually evolve in their meanings in conjuction with one's personal emotional development.

Currently, he's not too worried about making sure his laptop confirms his status as part of the in-group. His favorite stickers are the Air Jordan, gifted from his sister, and the MLB logo. Both evoke memories of his family, particluarly the latter. His father and him did a tour of a few major league baseball stadiums, and the logo is a reminder of that time.

As his fundamental values evolved, so too did his perspective on his laptop. He carries both this outlook and his laptop into the future.
