Dessert: Arroz con Dulce

Cold, sweet rice pudding has always been a holiday favorite. Served in Puerto Rican restaurants and at the family table, the dessert never disappoints. To me, it has also never tasted quite the same outside of Puerto Rico. 

D. Colon has modified the recipe for home bakers: "En nuestra casa hemos simplificado la receta con ingredientes más sencillos y fácil de conseguir."

Translation: In our home, we have simplified the recipe with simple ingredients that are easy to find.

As her recipe reads, the rice is seeped in coconut milk, sugar, and a mix of sweet spices before layered with a thin coat of cinnamon powder and garnished with raisins.
