Travelling
The first items that stand out in these planners are the train tickets. In both cases they represent a journey, a very important one if they have been stored in the planner, right at the beginning of the diary or on the date page that corresponds to the trip. There is a double meaning that the travelling tickets represents: independence and an event worthy of being remembered.
Unlike the first ticket which looks pretty basic and plain, the second ticket have been embedded in handwritten notes that include details about the trip, like “nazionali a Como” (National competitions in Como), “Ritorno =(” (return ticket with a sad face), “Combo del sincro italiane -> argento” (Synchronized swimming combo exercise -> silver). Annotations help the reader to position the ticket in the same perspective the planner’s owner saw it: a trip to a sport event where the final result has been extremely satisfactory.
