Music and quotes
Music handwritten quotes and concert tickets are tangible proofs of the author's love for music. Colors are the main source of information in these pages: apart from the physical ticket, the page has been decorated with handwritten notes which indicates the event importance in the author’s life. Beside the ticket, in fact, she added “the sisters [...]”, a nickname for her and her sister(s) or her and her best friend(s); the emotional connection to the night seeps through the page, the colors and the different fonts mimicked in the owner’s handwriting. It almost seems like she wanted to impress the feelings and the night on the page and make the reader experience the same closeness she had with the whole event.
Still playing with colors and capital letter, the second picture is a long quote from the song “No Love” by Simple Plan. It is interesting to notice the choice of writing on a Sunday - no school, empty page - and use red for the chorus; also, the last “no love” is written in capital letters: keeping in mind that we are dealing with a teenager’s planner, it is possible that the quote represents a discomfort in that specific moment of her life. The quote on her daily life reminder may have been her way to exorcise the pain and a sort of remembrance for the future.
