School Spirit

As The Sweet Shop is an iconic establishment at Florida State University and has become an integral part of the college student's daily life, many take the opportunity to share their Seminole pride. Katie and Emily take their school pride to the wall in a drawing of the school's icons Osceola and Renegade accompanied with the quick message further showing their love of the university, "Go Seminoles! <3 Katie & Emily." This artifact offers the versatility that characterizes everyday writing by utilizing images to emphasize their message and catch the eye of other Florida State University fans and lovers who enter this establishment.

One of many signatures that take up the walls and booth walls of the interior of this building Adam Reiss from the class of 1981 commemorates his Florida State University graduation. Graduations are an accomplishment seen throughout the building as students from decades apart share in their pride for the university and all of the hard work they have experienced throughout their college years.

As another commemoration of their graduation year from Florida State University, this artifact is on the older side of the scale. Whether it was written in 1962 as the year that the creator wrote or if it was written in recent years, there is still the commemorating of the years that this individual spent at this school. Those who look at the signature can think back on how the university differed from the present day and what a college student's daily life looked like during that time.
