The Bad

Unfortunately, not every book ends with the readers approval. Often times there is resentment. This part of the exhibition shows the negative reviews left by readers who did not enjoy the book. This happens more often than one would think.

In this review Penny Desatnik reviews Anna Wiener’s book Uncanny Valley. Penny gave the book one star and claims that the book was terrible. She claims she had a hard time getting through the book and insults the author, Wiener, rather bluntly. She goes as far as to say that if she encountered her at a party, she would never engage in conversation. Ouch.

Negative reviews can often be a personal attack at the author. Reviewers whole heartedly try to persuade others not to buy the book. This can be detrimental to the authors success. It shows the power of everyday writing in the simplest of situations.
