Subject

Description

This artifact is a card given to Stephanie by her boyfriend Wade for Valentine's day. It is originally a card for a niece, but Wade crossed out the "e" to make it "nice". He includes his own text along with the cards generic statement. The card itself follows the traditional Valentine's Day theme of purple, red, and pink.

The submitter provided the following about the artifact’s history: This is the first Valentine's Day card my boyfriend Wade ever gave me. It was our first time ever celebrating the holiday with a significant other.

Linguistic Text

Dear Stephanie,
This is valentine's day, and this the First time both of us have ever had the chance to spend it with someone we love. I (something crossed out) think I'll keep this short and sweet since I'd much rather just compliment you the whole day ;) I'd spend more time writing this, but its the night before today, so I'm coming to see you right now :D
Love, Wade :)

Wade also crosses out the "e" in "niece" to write:
nice ass girlfriend

Visual Text

Wade draws 3 emoticons within the linguistic text: ;) :D :)

Given Text

Valentine's Day- just one more reason to think about you and feel lucky to have such an awesome niece. Hope you know you're loved a lot!
