Lillithowl
This album came out when I was 10 years old. I remember sitting on the floor of my grandparents' living room, in front of the stereo listening to this song with my mom. And when it came to the "players only love you when they're playing" line my mom said to me: "Remember that, it's very true and very important." I just looked at her and had no clue what she meant at the time but it stayed with me. My mom passed unexpectedly when I was 13 but that comment stayed in my head. It wasn't until I was a grown woman myself that I understand what she meant.
Loretta Gilmore
Lillithowl I said the same thing to my son about that very line
