This reminds me of that summer when I suffered a miscarriage and fell deeper into my depression. Six days after the loss, my boyfriend surprised me with a self-built camper van that he was secretly working on for us and we escaped to the beach, unaware that would be a road trip that would last for several months. I remember it being the golden hour and we were parked under a tree by the fields in front of the beach, and we had our little table set up outside of the van as we drank our tea and discussed a book called Siddhartha. Suddenly, this song came on and I almost felt at peace hearing it, and my boyfriend grabbed my hand and told me, "I will do my best to make you believe in the beauty of the world again," and I nodded before proceeding to silently humming the song together while watching the water glisten.
I still think about the loss every now and then, but I also like to think that our little one is out there enjoying golden hour under a tree; patiently waiting for the day we get to hold her hands while beautiful songs play in the background.
