Sculpture of 'Amenhotep, son of Hapu' as a scribe, sitting cross-legged with a papyrus in his lap. This important man was an ancient Egyptian architect, a priest, a scribe and a public official during the reign of Amenhotep III. And he supervised several building projects, among them: the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III (Colossi of Memnon), the portico of the Temple of Karnak and those from the Luxor Temple, and the Temple of Soleb in Nubia are tributed to 'Amenhotep, son of Hapu'. This statue is considered as one of the most realistic depictions of a real person.
