Letters from Home
Families miss their kids terribly when they’re away at camp. Most camps prevent or limit their campers from calling their parents on the phone so campers look forward to mail every day. Letters are one of the most basic forms of everyday writing that isn’t particularly common in this day and age, even birthday cards can be digital now. Handwritten notes from home help parents bond with their children and vice versa and also lets the camper know that the outside world is still out there!
The goal of this page in the exhibit is to show the sentiment behind writing to kids at camp and showcase greeting cards as a great medium to utilize for everyday writing.
