Description
This artifact is Monica Rueda's Facebook status where she professes her love for Florida State University and the city of Tallahassee while discourages the idea of leaving. The post was liked by four people.
The submitter provided the following about the artifact’s history: "This artifact is one of my Facebook posts, something that only my Facebook friends see. I state that I actually like FSU and am rather reluctant about going back home. In order to upload this post, I needed my iPhone/laptop and a Facebook account.
Although I was excited about getting accepted in to Florida State, I deeply regretted not applying to the University of Florida for their outstanding academic placements in various magazines as well as FSU’s notoriety for being a big party school. But as I spent time here for the Summer C Session, that regret quickly diminished as I realized that there are people here with similar values as me and that I would do good as long as I stayed true to myself. As a result, I started to love FSU a little more every day and became more comfortable with my decision to come here. Now that I have met friends that I know are sincere and genuine as well as having great professors and having opportunities to succeed, makes me a little less eager to leave."
