"Problem, Solution"

Dublin Core

Subject

Description

This artifact is a piece of illustrated imaginative writing created by Camila Castro detailing a problem that a character named Popoki the cat got themselves into and how the problem was solved. The text is in pencil and includes ample misspellings almost to the point of illegibility. The illustrations appear to have been done with care and are very colorful. The artifact is composed in the style of puzzle, where the page on the right has a tab on its right side that fits into a slot on the left side of the left page. Both pages are pasted into a larger piece of green construction paper to create one composition.

Visual Text

The illustration on the right features a landscape surrounded by columns of red and yellow lava. An orange cat is following a red and black butterfly, even as the cat's paws are red from walking on the burning ground. The ground itself is charred black. A figure with taupe skin and red clothing is following behind the cat. The figure wears a red and green headpiece atop black hair. A tall brown volcano looms in the distance.

The illustration in on the left depicts the figure from the right, now smiling. The figure wears red garb once again, this time adorned with various brown accents. The figure has visible feet and toes. The figure has long black hair and a crown of red flowers and green leaves. Two palm trees with green fronds and brown trunks grow from the green ground.
