Dear Stephanie

Description

This artifact is an apology letter written on notebook paper to Stephanie by her boyfriend Wade after a fight they had.

The submitter provided the following about the artifact’s history: This is one of many letters that my boyfriend Wade wrote to me at the beginning of our relationship. We are both the sort of people who are bad at talking about our feelings so we like to write them out and give them to each other as letters because we tend to be able to put how we are feeling into words better that way. This particular one is after a period during our sophomore year when our relationship was strained due to stress and anxieties about if we were really meant to be together. We are both the type of people who don't like to give up and we decided that our relationship was one worth working through the problems which in the end made us stronger than ever.

Linguistic Text

Dear Stephanie,
Today was rough for me because of stupid stupid reasons: I didn't take care of myself this morning and the rest of the dayand I'm sorry that I took it out on you. I'm better than that, you and I both know that. I want to make tomorrow better though, by being much more true and earnest to myself and you alike. I won't let the darkness eat away at me tomorrow. That's all I can say before each new day. I'm sorry once again and I hope you can forgive me and move on to brighter days. I love you from the bottom of my heart, Wade
