"Spooky Arbol the Gecko"
Dublin Core
Title
Description
This artifact was found on Instagram, created by the owner, D.R. (sreen name: arbol_the_geck), on Halloween of 2017. It is a digital composition, a photograph taken on a smartphone (iPhone). The resource shows a pet gecko on top of a plastic jack-o-lantern, staring at acorns.
The submitter provided the following about the artifact’s history:
This account is dedicated to Arbol the Gecko. It was created by the owner because she was posting too many photos on her own account, and because she wanted to use it as a way to help show and educate people about lizards.
This account does not utilize as many hashtags as the others, but that may be because there is either not an established group/community for these kinds of pets, or possibly because the communities are smaller so more specificity is not necessarily needed. This post lets us know the type/breed of animal (#gecko #crestedgecko #crestie), but it does not have something like a #geckosofinstagram. It also uses the hashtag to establish the theme or place in time (#happyhalloween), which connects to the visual content. However, it might be prudent to note that this image only has 12 likes, the fewest of all the images shown here, which might be due to lack of interested in pet geckos in general, or potentially due to a lack of connection to these communities via hashtags.
