Description
This artifact is an Instagram post created by user Kia (screen name "adventuresofdenverthecowdog") to showcase her beautiful Australian cattle dog at the wheel of her car.
The submitter provided the following about the artifact’s history:
The account was created by the owner for the dog shortly after adopting him from the shelter, in her second year at university. She made the acccount (previously named “Denvergoestocollege”) to document their time together as she navigated college life, often with funny posts of the dog engaging in stereotypical college events (like playing beerpong) or just atmospheric shots of the dog on campus. etc. She has since changed the account name after graduating college and moving across the country, and the images she posts now are more artsy and in line with the kind of living she does now (with horses on mountains).
Here we can see the use of hashtags shows both what breed the dog is (#blueheeler #acd #australiancattledog #aussie) as well as what group or community this post would be in (#blueheelersofinstagram #aussiesofinstagram #dogsofinstagram #dogsofig), a location for these folks (#fl) that connects them to the outside/”real” world communities, and also a call to gain more followers for the account and expand their online presence/community (#followforfollow #follow4follow).
